iMedX is led by an accomplished team averaging 25 years experience bringing together commercial proficiency with deep Australian hospital and healthcare expertise. They know that every detail matters, superior quality is essential, and client satisfaction must always come first.
The leadership team is supported by additional 12 head-office staff who assist in support, service delivery and operations, based in Melbourne.
Alex Zacher
Managing Director
With over 13 years at iMedX and a deep commitment to healthcare innovation, Alex Zacher has been at the helm of the company’s business strategy across Australia and New Zealand since 2022. He is passionate about driving iMedX’s vision to enhance patient care through cutting-edge, client-focused solutions that optimise the efficiency and accuracy of healthcare services.
Alex holds an MBA from Monash University and has a proven track record of delivering technology-driven solutions in Health Information Management. Under his leadership, iMedX has expanded its regional footprint across New Zealand, Asia and Saudi Arabia, and supported the creation and implementation of our innovative services across clinical documentation, HIS and Health Consulting.
At the heart of Alex’s leadership is a dedication to people, fostering collaboration, and promoting strategic innovation. His clear vision focuses on implementing solutions that offer significant productivity gains for providers and support the growth of iMedX, both locally and globally.
Mike Smith
Chief Technology Officer
Mike brings 20 years of healthcare technology experience to drive the iMedX mission of delivering innovative, client-centric solutions for healthcare providers. Mike is extremely passionate about how technology can enhance patient outcomes, having implemented industry first automation projects for Australia’s largest healthcare providers.
By focussing on enhancing efficiency, Mike leads our technology strategy by developing products that use AI, data and automation to transform the way hospitals manage data. Ultimately, Mike’s solutions free up time and resources for better patient care while upholding the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Trained in AI for Healthcare at Harvard and holding multiple technology and project management certifications, Mike brings a deep technical expertise to the iMedX strategy.
Shona Jackett
Director of Health Consulting, Strategy & Innovation
Shona is a healthcare industry expert with over 18 years healthcare experience across strategy, product development, and transformation roles. Shona is responsible for the management and scalability of iMedX Revenue Cycle Management and Health Information Management services. She also plays a critical role in developing iMedX’s future business strategy, directing the business toward accelerated growth through innovative solutions and market expansion.
A significant aspect of Shona’s work includes delivering health information services consulting, transforming departments across some of Australia’s largest hospitals. By leveraging innovative solutions and best practices, Shona helps healthcare organisations optimise their operations and improve patient outcomes.
With a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Business, and delivery of numerous growth strategies to transform operations, Shona brings extensive experience in strategic leadership to iMedX.
Lisette Bicknell
Director of Clinical Documentation Operations
Lisette is a health information management expert, leading the clinical documentation operations division at iMedX, a portfolio servicing over 500 providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical documentation solutions. Lisette’s strength lies in her ability to operationalise complex workflows at mass scale.
As a qualified Health Information Manager and operational expert, Lisette has over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare sector with roles across a range of public health organisations and programs including health software, population health registries namely the National HPV Vaccination Register and large public hospitals. Lisette’s experience underscores her expertise in managing complex systems and processes.
Her commitment to operational quality aligns with iMedX’s mission to provide accurate and compliant clinical documentation services that meet evolving healthcare needs.
Cheens Lee
Commercial Director
Cheens is a healthcare industry commercial leader with expansive experience delivering commercial solutions for healthcare decision makers across Australia. As a qualified Health Information Manager, ex Clinical Coder, and holding an MBA from Melbourne University, Cheens has a wealth of health information management industry specific experience across revenue cycle management, clinical documentation, dictation and speech recognition, electronic medical record and consulting services.
Over his career Cheens has held many prestigious roles like the former president of Australia’s Health Information Management Association (HIMAA), playing an instrumental role in steering HIMAA to a position of strategic elevation. His strong relationships coupled with his experience, and his drive to flex his MBA toolkit across the revenue growth strategy of the business will greatly support our broader business strategy locally here in Australia with a view to launch globally.
Cheens leads iMedX’s commercial and go to market strategies to accelerate the growth and partnership footprint with health providers across Australia and New Zealand.
Karen Dawson
Strategic Partnership Director – Revenue Cycle Management
Karen is a veteran in the health information sector, bringing over 30 years of experience to her role at iMedX. Before iMedX, Karen owned and operated a coding and auditing business for 17 years, having been the first provider of independent revenue cycle, coding and health fund contract compliance audits for hospitals. Subsequently she is highly trusted in the industry and her expertise is central to iMedX’s ability to improve the accuracy and efficiency of RCM.
Karen’s strategic insights, and her strong and established network help drive the development of our global business relationships.
Jacqui Firinauskas
Head of People & Culture
Jacqui leads the People & Culture function at iMedX, focusing on aligning human resource strategies with the company’s vision and values.
With over 25 years in Human Resources, Jacqui’s experience includes senior leadership positions in APAC/EMEA regions across market research, manufacturing, FMCG and Technology. Jacqui is dedicated to building a high-performance culture that supports iMedX’s growth and innovation goals.
Her strategic approach to people management ensures that iMedX attracts and retains top talent, driving the company’s success in delivering client-centric healthcare solutions.
Janice Castelino
Finance Manager
Janice oversees the financial operations at iMedX and ensures fiscal responsibility and strategic financial management.
With over 15 years’ in Accounting and Finance, Janice has diverse experience spanning industries across the Middle East and Australia. Janice is key to shaping and executing financial strategies that support iMedX’s mission of delivering cost-effective healthcare solutions.
